Anthem · Barking Justice Music
Arsonists of the Republic
They did not build the storm. They opened the gate, fed the fire, and called it patriotism.
About this anthem
The ship of fools became the arsonists. Arsonists of the Republic asks the question every accountability story dances around: who profited when the country caught fire, and who let it burn?
This anthem was built for the moment after the outrage fades, when the news cycle moves on and the machinery of the story disappears into procedural language and plausible deniability. It refuses easy villains and easy distance. It names the donor who financed it, the liar who sold it, and the judge who saw the damage and chose not to hold anyone to account. It is a reminder that these are not strangers. They have names, and the names are known.
It is featured on The Democracy Block, Barking Justice Radio’s warning system for a republic under pressure. Where that segment tracks the courts, the elections, the captured institutions, and the slow normalization of lawlessness case by case, this song holds the line underneath all of it: the fire was not an accident, and this country was never theirs to burn.

Lyrics
Verse 1- the ship of fools
We watched the ship of fools go down, we watched them cheer the flame. Red hats laughing in the smoke, while they cursed this country’s name. They called their hatred freedom, called their cruelty pride, wrapped themselves in old glory while they sold the truth for lies. They blessed the broken compass, they called the grifter true, then handed him the matches and called the fire proof.
Pre-Chorus
They did not build the storm, but they opened up the gate. They did not make the fire, but they fed it with their hate.
Chorus – Red Hats With matches
Red hats with matches, flag in one hand, flame in the other. Calling hate their country, calling cruelty law, laughing at the damage, then denying what they saw. They broke the wheel, they sold the bell, they swore the ship was sailing well. But this country is not theirs to burn. This country still belongs to you.
Verse 2 – Follow the Money
MAGA sold the maps for favors, cut the lifeboats free, turned the courts to lookout posts for what they would not see. They painted cracks with slogans, drowned the facts in noise, handed fear a microphone and called the panic choice. Every time the hull gave way, they blamed the ones below, but the hands that lit the fire are the hands we need to know.
Pre-chorus
Follow the money, follow the names, follow the silence, follow the flames.
Chorus — Red Hats With Matches
Red hats with matches, flag in one hand, flame in the other. Calling hate their country, calling cruelty law, laughing at the damage, then denying what they saw. They broke the wheel, they sold the bell, they swore the ship was sailing well. But this country is not theirs to burn. This country still belongs to you.
Bridge — Arsonists of the Republic
This is what comes after laughter. This is what follows the cheer. A country wakes up in the wreckage and asks how the fire got here. The donor who bought it, the liar who sold it, the judge who saw the damage and chose not to hold it. The oath that was broken, the red hats that knew, the hate they called country, the rot they called truth. They were not lost, they were not confused, they knew what they were lighting. Arsonists of the republic, dressed up in red, white, and blue.
Build — We Are Not Ashes
But we are not ashes, we are not done, we are the names they thought they could outrun. We are the phone call, the knock at the door, the vote they tried stealing, the truth on the floor.
Bring Back the Compass
Bring back the compass, raise up the light, name what they burned and stay in the fight.
Final Chorus — Red Hats With Matches
Red hats with matches, flag in one hand, flame in the other. Calling hate their country, calling cruelty law, laughing at the damage, then denying what they saw. They broke the wheel, they sold the bell, they swore the ship was sailing well. But this country is not theirs to burn. This country still belongs to you.
Final Refrain
Not to the liars, not to the thieves, not to the men who profit when we grieve. Not to the red hats, not to the few, who sold out the country and called it truth. Not to the cowards, not to the crew, who lit up the damage and said it was you. This country is not theirs to burn. This country still belongs to you.
Outro
Follow the damage. Name what they did. The ship of fools became the arsonists. And the arsonists have names. We know the names. Barking Justice Music. We are not afraid.
